Irish Coffee Recipe

E-mail Print

Irish CoffeeThere's nothing like an Irish Coffee in the morning with breakfast, or in the afternoon to tide you over, or for that matter after dinner to cap off the night.  This recipe emulates the Irish Coffee from the recognized creator of the original Irish Coffee, Buena Vista in San Francisco.

If you ever visit San Francisco, you have to visit Buena Vista for the breakfasts, Irish Coffees, and the ocean view; where the cable cars launch.  But this is the next best thing to being there.

Ingredients

  • 1 t Sugar (brown or white)
  • 4 oz. Coffee
  • 1 oz. Irish Whiskey
  • Heavy Whipping Cream

Directions

Add the Sugar to a 6 oz. cup (Buena Vista sells some nice cups online).  Pour the coffee over to melt the sugar; stir a little).  Add the whiskey. Beat the whip cream rapidly for a minute to a light froth, then pour over the back of a spoon into the glass to provide a nice topping.  Enjoy!
